Position: Senior Software Engineer

 

Job Location: 10900 NE 4^th^ Street, 8 Floor, Bellevue, WA 98004

 

Duties: Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to come up with a high-level technical design by partnering with solution architects, staff engineers, product owners, business stakeholders, and data governance team members. Review high-level project requirements, ask clarifying questions to gain specificity, and translate them into technical solution proposals. Conduct thorough research to identify alternative solutions and determine the most suitable solution based on its return on investment and value add to the business. Develops code, conducts unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, and communicates progress and issues to team members and stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery of the projects. Configure alerts and monitoring dashboards by identifying key metrics and thresholds to determine alert priorities, ensuring timely and accurate notifications for system issues and anomalies. Participate in on-call rotation to help resolve issues occurring in the production environment. Perform root cause analysis to identify the source of the issue and propose changes to prevent them from occurring again.

 

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area OR Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area.

 

Skills required: Experience with software development methodologies including Agile, Scrum, and Kanban. Experience with software development tools including Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and CI/CD. Experience gathering, analyzing, and clarifying requirements, scope the project, and developing user stories and estimates. Experience designing resilient and scalable application architecture, and creating architectural models, class and UML diagrams, and documentation. Experience understanding data structures and algorithms to develop high-performant, optimal code. Experience writing object-oriented code using design patterns in Java programming language. Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP and deploying applications using infrastructure-as-code tools including Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with software testing and quality assurance, including end-to-end automation testing, unit, and integration testing, to ensure the software meets performance, scalability, and security requirements. Experience with logging, metrics, and tracing and setting up a comprehensive monitoring and alerting system to maintain high uptime for applications. Experience participating in code reviews and providing feedback to other team members. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

 

Salary Range: $149,240/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.?
