BYTEDANCE INC. Senior Software Development Engineer - Cloud Native Databases (Multiple Positions) in Bellevue, Washington
Responsibilities Design and develop core database system functionalities and related tools. Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and upgrade backend services or systems to ensure services remain operational and highly available. Gather user requirements and write code in various programming languages. Participate in the release and deployment process. Solve unique, large-scale, highly complex cloud infrastructure problems. Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams to design and implement backend support for cloud database service products. Mentor junior-level team members. Qualifications Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Delivering and maintaining a reliable, available, scalable, and manageable large-scale distributed storage system; Deploying a large-scale distributed storage system to Linux server using Shell scripting, C, or C++; Optimizing the performance of distributed system using Agile method; Verifying and monitoring of distributed system using Python or C++, including end-to-end testing, compatibility testing, integration testing, stress testing, and failure ingestion testing; Designing and implementing large-scale, distributed online software services using programming language C, C++, Java, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, or Python; and Maintaining and debugging software services.
