OKTA Senior Developer Content Specialist in Bellevue, Washington

Get to know Okta Okta is The World's Identity Company. We free everyone to safely use any technology, anywhere, on any device or app. Our flexible and neutral products, Okta Platform and Auth0 Platform, provide secure access, authentication, and automation, placing identity at the core of business security and growth. At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we're looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences. Join our team! We're building a world where Identity belongs to you. Okta is looking for a Senior Developer Content Advocate to join the team responsible for the Auth0 Blog, one of the industry's most respected resources for developers. We don't just document features; we teach developers how to build secure, scalable, and modern applications. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex identity standards and practical implementation. You will work with a global network of engineers, product managers, and developer advocates to create high-quality, code-centric tutorials and deep-dive technical articles. If you are a developer who likes writing, loves deconstructing complex problems, and wants to drive the adoption of modern identity security, this is the place for you. Core Responsibilities Create Developer-First Content: Plan, research, and write high-quality technical tutorials, deep dives, and "how-to" articles for the Auth0 Blog that help developers solve real-world identity problems. Content Curation & Editorial Review: Act as an editor and curator for internal engineers, advocates, and guest contributors. You will validate their technical claims, test their code snippets, and edit their drafts to ensure high editorial standards. Multimedia Production: Expand our educational reach by identifying opportunities for and producing video content (screencasts, shorts, or explainers) that complements written tutorials. Manage Content Lifecycle: Own your editorial calendar from concept to publication and distribution. This includes proactively updating high-traffic legacy posts to ensure code samples and advice remain fresh. Collaborate Strategically: Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to translate complex feature releases into compelling narratives and practical use cases. Minimum Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of experience in technical writing, developer marketing, or developer advocacy, with a strong portfolio of public-facing technical content and experience as a software developer working on production level code. Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and understand code. You must be comfortable working with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks to create and validate tutorial code samples. Communication: Exceptional written English with a clear, explanatory, and empathetic style that resonates with a developer audience. Preferred Qualifications Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML) and web security best practices. SEO Knowledge: Experience writing content optimized for search engines without sacrificing technical depth. AI Adaptability: Experience using AI tools to assist in research, outlining, or content optimization. Community Engagement: Experience interacting with developer communities (HN, Reddit, Discord) to understand user needs. Our Philosophy on AI We believe AI is a powerful tool to accelerate research and structure ideas, but it is not a replacement for human expertise. We value AI-resilient content, unique, experience-based insights and verified code that generic models cannot replicate. We look for educators who use AI to work smarter, not to do the work for them. #LI-Remote P-1480.1 Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San F
