Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development

Location: Bellevue, WA

Schedule: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite | 2 Days Remote)

About the Opportunity

An award‑winning, nationally recognized Civil Engineering firm headquartered in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to play a key technical and leadership role within a growing site civil team. This position is ideal for a Senior‑level engineer who enjoys hands‑on design work, technical problem‑solving, and mentoring—without being removed from production.

You’ll join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment delivering high‑impact land development and infrastructure projects across healthcare, higher education, distribution, K‑12, commercial, office, retail, and mixed‑use markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coordinate land development and infrastructure design projects from concept through construction documentation

  • Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers and designers, driving quality and consistency

  • Prepare, review, and stamp (as applicable) site plans, grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility designs

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater design, and SWPPP preparation

  • Collaborate closely with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders

  • Draft and review technical reports, calculations, and proposal documents

  • Participate in client meetings, permitting efforts, and agency coordination

  • Support business development efforts and contribute to long‑term client relationships

  • Conduct site visits and provide engineering support during construction as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in civil engineering and land development design

  • (Not seeking state or municipal public works backgrounds)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)

  • PE License preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year

  • Strong technical background in:

  • Site layout & grading

  • Drainage & stormwater management

  • Utilities & infrastructure

  • Erosion & sediment control

  • Proven experience managing projects from concept through construction documentation

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D

  • Deep familiarity with local, city, county, and state land use regulations

  • Experience in one or more of the following markets:

  • Healthcare

  • Higher Education

  • Distribution

  • K‑12

  • Commercial, Office, Retail, or Mixed‑Use

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical and proposal writing

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits

Important: This is not a traditional Project Manager role. We’re seeking a Senior‑level engineer who can lead projects while still producing high‑quality design work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Bellevue, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $133000.00/yr.
