Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Bellevue, WA

About the Role

This team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and scale of advanced material handling and mechanical systems. This role sits at the intersection of product engineering, manufacturing, and deployment, ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability, quality, cost, and scalability.

You will partner closely with product engineers, controls teams, and operations to bring complex mechanical systems from prototype through production and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing process development and optimization across multiple fabrication technologies
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback early in the design cycle to ensure scalable, cost-effective production
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) from prototype builds through production ramp
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with:
  • Product Engineering
  • Controls Engineering
  • Procurement & Supply Chain
  • Deployment and Operations teams
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, yield, throughput, and cost
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process control plans
  • Support troubleshooting during builds, pilots, and deployments
  • Interface with suppliers and contract manufacturers as needed
  • Travel periodically to U.S. lab and deployment sites to support builds and issue resolution

Required Technical Experience

Experience with one or more of the following manufacturing processes:

  • Die casting
  • Sheet metal fabrication
  • Welding
  • Roll forming
  • Stretch forming

Preferred:

  • Plastics manufacturing experience
  • systems-level assembly experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production engineering role
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing constraints
  • Experience supporting production builds, pilot lines, or factory floor operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automation, material handling systems, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or industrial equipment manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience supporting builds, prototypes, or deployment efforts
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience using PLM systems to manage product data, engineering changes, and manufacturing documentation
  • Exposure to high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environments
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required by the program
