Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Dean of Arts and Humanities, the Associate Dean of Basic and Transitional Studies (BaTS) and English Language Institute (ELI) provides collaborative leadership for programs serving adult learners, English language learners, and students preparing for college-level coursework. The role includes oversight of instruction, staffing, curriculum, and operations across adult basic education, high school completion, English Language Acquisition, and intensive English programs, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and best practices. The Associate Dean exercises authority within assigned program areas and works under the direction of the Dean of Arts & Humanities to implement divisional priorities

 

As a member of the division's leadership team, the Associate Dean works closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to support instructional quality, strengthen student pathways, and advance equitable student outcomes. The Associate Dean translates divisional and institutional priorities into effective practice, supports faculty excellence, and fosters continuous improvement in program design and delivery. As designated, the Associate Dean represents the division in collegewide, and system-level initiatives aligned with Bellevue College's mission and student success goals.

 

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

 

Position Salary Range: $107,844.00/year - $156,374.00/year

 

The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hire starts no higher than $119,976 based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which means that you are not eligible for overtime pay.
