Position Summary:
Plans, organizes, and supervises the Diagnostic Imaging Department for day-to-day and long-term functions of the department. This includes maintaining accreditation with regulatory bodies, positive interaction with physicians within, and utilizing services of the department, and overseeing employee relations and employee competency. Incorporates and supports the core values and processes of Firelands Health.
What you will do:
Establishes effective working relationships with the Medical Staff and other departments/services.
Demonstrates and communicates the hospital’s mission, vision and values.
Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of imaging services provided, and takes appropriate action based on findings.
Provides leadership and guidance to employees in problem-solving, resource management, and outcome achievement.
Ability to assist in the necessary job tasks for patient care and departmental operations.
Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
Demonstrates a clear understanding of federal, state, and hospital policy compliance in all areas related to the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
Works collaboratively with the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and TBH’s President to establish initiatives for self and the department.
Reviews policies and procedures regularly to ensure relevance of policy and consistency between policies.
Consistently and fairly implements policies and procedures.
Drafts and implements new policies as needed.
Ensures confidentiality for health records and personal information.
Maintains proper control of all Medical Center assets within the area of accountability.
Monitors the general level of employee morale and job satisfaction and resolves developing problems as quickly as possible.
Maintains regular communication with staff to motivate and guide individuals as well as department growth to achieve maximum potential and clear direction in future planning and development.
Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate and participates in professional activities to keep abreast of developments that may affect the department.
+ + What you will need:
Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA), accredited radiology program, or a Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.
Valid Ohio Radiologic License.
Registered by the ARRT.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Ability to apply verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
Minimum three years supervisory experience within a department of radiology.
Complies with all Service Excellence, Quality, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
Ability to communicate and understand oral and written communication. Ability to effectively communicate with management, physicians, patients, vendors and co-workers.
Ability to read and write small letters and numbers.
Ability to perform complex arithmetic calculations.
Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Medical Center emergency codes.
Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
