Centre County Government Resource Conservation Intern in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania
- Inventories historic Best Management Practice implementation on farms in Centre County, utilizing PracticeKeeper or similar computer programs.
- Conducts site visits on farms, developments and other construction sites, to verify Best Management Practices.
- Reviews Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control Plans and NPDES permits for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Assists with project development and implementation of agricultural Best Management Practices.
- Provides technical assistance to farmers on the management of water and soil resources.
- Assists in arranging tours, field days, demonstration projects, and other outreach events.
- Assists with the collection of manure and soil samples.
- Reviews and develops farm conservation plans and Nutrient Management Plans.
- Provides information on financial resources (grants, loans, and cost-share) available to agricultural producers and landowners in the installation of agricultural conservation best management practices.
- Maintains computerized tracking system.
- Prepares reports as required.
- Conducts education programs for schools and other community agencies.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
