The CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Haas CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components. This role requires expertise in G-code programming, CAD/CAM software, and hands-on machining experience. The ideal candidate will support production goals by optimizing machine performance, ensuring quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes.
Optimize machine performance to meet production goals.
Ensure quality standards are maintained.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Train and mentor junior machinists.
Essential Skills
Expertise in G-code programming.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
Hands-on machining experience.
Experience with 3-axis, 4th, and 5th axis Haas mills.
Familiarity with industry standards and LEAN manufacturing practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG).
Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM).
Strong understanding of machining principles, feeds/speeds, and tool selection.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T symbols.
Experience with tight tolerances (e.g., ±0.0002") and high-precision parts.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in CNC programming and machining, specifically with Haas equipment.
Work Environment
The role is based in a machine shop within a small to midsize, family-owned company. The environment is straightforward with minimal politics, offering straight shifts including 7-3p, 3-11p, and 11-7am.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellefonte, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
