Overview
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our AI Tools team, where you will play a key role in advancing our AI tooling ecosystem by enhancing and evolving platforms that power intelligent applications across the organization. In this role, you will focus on extending and customizing LibreChat to improve user experience and deliver high‑value capabilities such as agentic and MCP integration, performance optimization, and features like prompt sharing and tagging.
You will also contribute to building an integration platform that exposes AI-driven capabilities across the organization, enabling use cases such as charter and story creation, sales lead generation, and enhanced client interaction. In addition, you will help maintain and evolve our Models‑as‑a‑Service (MaaS) platform, ensuring reliable, scalable, and observable consumption of AI models. This role offers the opportunity to work on foundational AI tools that drive innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Design and develop new AI tooling features and platform enhancements based on business and user requirements.
Enhance, customize, and extend LibreChat, focusing on usability, performance, and functionality.
Design and implement agentic capabilities and MCP integrations within AI tools.
Contribute to an internal AI integration platform that exposes AI‑powered capabilities across the organization.
Build and maintain cloud‑based pipelines, configurations, and Infrastructure as Code supporting AI tooling.
Integrate and evolve Models as a Service (MaaS), onboarding new models and improving delivery and reliability.
Improve monitoring, observability, and operational stability of AI platforms.
Collaborate closely with platform, infrastructure, and cross‑functional technical teams.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Python Expertise: Strong experience (4+ years), with extensive knowledge of Python. Expertise in FastAPI and AI engineering is highly desirable.
JavaScript/TypeScript: Proficiency in both backend and frontend development, with advanced skills in JavaScript and TypeScript.
Containerization: Well-versed in building and maintaining fully containerized environments using technologies like Docker.
Cloud Software Pipeline Development: Solid experience in designing and implementing cloud-based software pipelines and configuring cloud infrastructure.
Infrastructure as Code: Proficient in utilizing tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for managing infrastructure.
Cloud Platforms and Distributed Systems: Experience with cloud platforms, complemented by expertise in working with distributed systems.
API Gateways (Nice to Have): Experience with API gateways such as Kong or similar technologies is beneficial but not mandatory.
Agile Experience: Comfortable working in Agile teams with strong collaboration skills.
Technical Ownership: Self‑driven, with the ability to own complex problems
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills and sound technical decision‑making.
Continuous Improvement: Passion for learning, experimentation, and improving AI tooling and platforms.
Open Source (Nice to Have): Experience contributing to open‑source projects is a plus.
