Holycode Senior Java Engineer - Aktiia team in Belgrade, Serbia
We at Holycode are currently looking for a Senior Java Engineer with strong skills and proven experience to join our Aktiia (Hilo) (https://hilo.com/uk/?srsltid=AfmBOoopso0BpCH1HBdfFcXEfwiFtOwxtddspQvroKy7UzymM_tj3202) team here in our Belgrade office.
Aktiia is a venture-backed startup that has developed and brought the world’s first continuous blood pressure monitor to market. Their technology is based on 15 years of research by our founders at the prestigious Swiss research institution, CSEM. Aktiia's solution has been validated through extensive clinical trials and received the CE Mark as a Class IIa medical device giving them access to 43 countries worldwide.

Challenging things you’ll work on:
Implement new features for our backend
Setup servers in a way to support microservice architecture
Take ownership of specific feature implementations and produce structured, easy to read and efficient code
Write unit tests and verify your code against defined test cases
Participate in code review meetings and ensure timely delivery of high-quality code
Discuss possible implementations with lead developers and contributes to the overall design and the architecture of our backend
Estimate development efforts and do sprint planning together with the team
Keep track of your work and make sure to follow Aktiia’s development process
Plan releases together with the team and support the release of backend services
Your contribution to the team includes:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
5+ years of working experience as a backend developer
Good knowledge about software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
Experience in the following technologies/tools: Java, MySQL, MongoDB, Spring, AWS(ECS, S3, SQS...), React or Angular
Understanding of software development lifecycles in a regulated industry with experience in medical device software development is a big plus
Willingness to work flexibly, in an interdisciplinary and international environment, depending on the current project status
Strong analytical skills and process-oriented work style with a structured, independent approach to work and focus on getting things done
Fluency in English (French and other European languages are a plus)
