Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland

Contract: 24-month FTC/Secondment

As part of Diageo Baileys Global Supply manufactures, packages and distributes over 7 million cases of Baileys Original Irish Cream and Sheridan’s Liqueur throughout the world from the 2 sites in Dublin and Belfast.

About the role

This role is based at our Bailey’s Packaging site in Mallusk, Northern Ireland and sits within one of our shift teams.

The role covers the whole process of intake and processing of raw ingredients, to bottling and shipping of finished goods - as a Quality Assurance Technician you will ensure that all manufactured goods are produced according to quality specifications and compliant with government regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all manufactured goods are produced according to quality specifications and compliant with government regulations and standards.

  • Responsible for completing, monitoring and interpreting all analytical, chemical & microbiological (including sending samples to external lab) tests. In addition to monitoring checks to ensure compliance with specifications from materials through to final products across the whole process.

  • Ensure all plant quality assurance equipment is calibrated and maintained and that all routine quality checks are carried out in the appropriate manner to the required frequencies

  • Liaise with suppliers on material issues.

  • Training of process, bottling & warehouse operators in relation to the carrying out of all routine quality checks according to procedure and the compliance of results to specifications

  • Investigate Consumer and customer complaints regarding product quality across all markets and ensuring corrective action is taken as necessary.

About you

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Third level degree in a food related science or equivalent

  • High level of IT skills in particular Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and able to use initiative whilst under pressure.

  • FMGC experience is desirable

  • Ability to complete and maintain documentation and system records to high degree of accuracy

  • Great ‘can do’ attitude along with excellent communication skills

  • A keen team player within and across teams – who can lead on work activities, including manufacturing excellence projects.

  • A motivated self-starter capable of learning in a fast paced environment

  • Flexibility within a shift working environment
