Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the mechanical components of industrial machinery used in manufacturing. This includes lathes, mills, CNC machines, grinders, extruders, rubber processing equipment, and custom production machinery. The role focuses on mechanical repair, machine alignment, and equipment reliability, with welding skills required for fabrication and repair tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.

  • Troubleshoot complex machinery issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills to identify root causes quickly.

  • Repair or replace defective parts using welding, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to restore equipment functionality.

  • Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high voltage circuits, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments.

  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks efficiently.

  • Conduct field service activities across the manufacturing facility, including working with HVAC/R systems, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.

  • Collaborate with production teams to support manufacturing processes while ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.

  • Demonstrated electrical experience with industrial electrician background; familiarity with low voltage and high voltage systems.

  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, schematics reading, welding, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting using analysis skills along with tools such as ammeters and ohmmeters.

  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS software, and field service operations in a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to work safely at heights using equipment like scissor lifts; familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid certification or experience in industrial maintenance or related technical fields.

  • Experience working with high voltage systems preferred.

Work Environment

This role is within a medium-sized manufacturing company in Belcamp, MD, that specializes in manufacturing rubber roles. The work environment is labor-intensive, with only two technicians per shift. You will work a day shift from 8am-5pm or 6:30am-3pm, usually totaling 40 hours per week, with minimal overtime. Occasionally, you'll be responsible for emergency repairs during the second shift from 3pm-11:30pm, typically once per month.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $79040.00/yr.
