Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Application Engineer Director – Mechanical SDA in Beijing, China

Position Description:

  • Lead, mentor, and allocate resources for mechanical SDA application engineer team. This includes managing staffing plans, budgets, and talent pipelines.

  • Define the long-term technical vision for system design automation, aligning engineering efforts with overarching company objectives and market trends.

  • Act as a technical liaison to identify new "design win" opportunities, provide technical demonstrations, and manage customer expectations during the sales cycle.

  • Lead the selection and implementation of advanced mechanical SDA solutions to maximize capacity and accuracy.

  • Partner with R&D, Product Management, and Sales teams to align product roadmaps with customer needs and industry trends.

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s degree is essential and 10+ years of experience in system design automation or related fields, with the following capabilities:

  • Strong understa nding of Multiphysics System Analysis theory and simulation methodologies.

  • Eager to learn new technologies, and willing to promote new technologies to customers.

  • Experience of leading pre-sales and post-sales engineering team

  • Experience and proficiency with major CAE solutions such as Ansys (https://www.ansys.com/) , Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Nastran, or HyperWorks, etc.

  • Scripting skills (Python, Shell, etc.) for process automation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong leadership to lead teams through rapid organizational shifts, evolving technologies, and the adoption of new methodologies while maintaining productivity and morale.

  • Strong teamwork and customer engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
