Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role involves safely operating a sit-down forklift to move equipment, materials, and heavy items throughout a manufacturing and warehouse facility. The position also includes general labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work area while supporting multiple departments to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a sit-down forklift to move equipment, materials, and heavy items throughout the facility.

  • Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and relocating machinery, raw materials, and finished goods.

  • Manually move, lift, and organize heavy materials as required to support daily operations.

  • Support general site clean-up activities, including clearing work areas and preparing equipment for removal.

  • Perform basic safety inspections of forklifts and tools prior to use to ensure proper operation.

  • Follow all safety guidelines, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Assist multiple departments as needed to help meet production and project deadlines.

  • Perform other general labor tasks as assigned to support overall facility operations.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in safe forklift operation, including maneuvering in tight spaces and around equipment and personnel.

  • Ability to become forklift certified if not already certified.

  • Comfort with performing physical work and lifting or moving heavy items on a regular basis.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work with limited supervision.

  • Strong attention to safety and detail in all material handling and equipment operation tasks.

  • Reliable attendance and ability to work full shift hours consistently.

  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and move up to 90 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general labor tasks within a production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team across multiple departments.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take on a variety of tasks as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing and warehouse setting with regular exposure to dust, noise, and industrial equipment. You will work around active production areas and moving machinery while operating a sit-down forklift and performing material handling tasks. The role requires the consistent use of personal protective equipment, including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and other PPE as required. Work is performed on-site for full shift hours and involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials throughout the facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Beeville, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.10 - $17.10/hr.
