Actalent EHS Specialist in Bedford, Ohio
Job Description
This position will provide specialized support to the Environmental, Health and Safety Department.
Working closely with the EHS team and site operations, the position will primarily be responsible for maintaining waste management programs including hazardous, regulated medical, pharmaceutical, and other specialized wastes.
EHS Inspections and PMs – Plan and execute Safety Preventative Maintenance and Inspections
Waste Program Management – Manage the regulated and specialized waste program at the site.
Work with warehouse personnel on the tracking and removal of specialized rejected products and materials.
Regulatory Compliance/Reporting. Will oversee and maintain the Regulatory compliance matrix.
Coordinate sampling of the wastewater
PPE Program– Will perform safety inspections of PPE
Emergency Response Team Coordinator – Assemble, Training and Maintain the site emergency response team
Metric Tracking – Will be responsible for various EHS metric tracking
Vendor Management – Coordinate and monitor external contractors involved with the removal of regulated and specialized waste streams.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental, Health, Safety)
2+ years experience working in an Environmental, Health & Safety role
Experience in Hazardous / Regulated Waste Management
Must possess or obtain RCRA certification and DOT certification within 60 days of employment.
Nice to Have
Previous pharmaceutical industry experience
Experience working in a GMP environment
EHS management systems experience (Enablon, Intelex, VelocityEHS, etc.)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
