In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Maximo Project Manager specializing in Asset Management, you will lead and manage the implementation of Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions and related add-ons. This role requires 5+ years of experience with strong project management capabilities, asset management knowledge, and the ability to drive business transformation initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Lead Project Delivery: Manage end-to-end Maximo EAM implementation projects, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget while achieving client business objectives
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders at all levels, managing expectations and ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle
• Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams, including technical consultants, business analysts, and third-party vendors to deliver successful outcomes
• Project Planning & Governance: Develop project plans, manage risks and issues, establish governance frameworks, and report on project status to senior leadership
• Business Process Optimization: Work with clients to identify improvement opportunities and translate business requirements into actionable implementation strategies
• Quality Assurance: Ensure solution quality through oversight of testing, deployment, and change management activities
Required technical and professional expertise
• Project Management Experience: 5+ years of proven experience managing enterprise software implementation projects, preferably with Maximo EAM or similar asset management solutions
• Maximo Knowledge: Working knowledge of Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution capabilities, implementation methodologies, and industry best practices
• Project Management Methodologies: Experience with project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and relevant certifications (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent preferred)
• Client Engagement: Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, facilitate workshops, and lead business process discussions with stakeholders at various organizational levels
• Resource & Budget Management: Experience managing project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to ensure successful project outcomes
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to executive audiences and produce clear project documentation
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Asset Management Domain: In-depth understanding of asset management principles, maintenance strategies, and industry standards (ISO 55000, PAS 55) across utilities, manufacturing, or transportation sectors
• Change Management: Experience leading organizational change management initiatives and user adoption strategies for enterprise system implementations
• Multi-project Management: Experience managing project portfolios or multiple concurrent Maximo implementations across different business units or geographies
• Industry Experience: Specific experience in relevant industries such as utilities, oil & gas, facilities management, transportation, or manufacturing
