Aerotek Maintenance Supervisor in Bedford, Indiana

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

The primary role of the Maintenance Supervisor is to oversee and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality output.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.

  • Review operations and collaborate with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.

  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.

  • Supervise, train, evaluate, and manage staff, and address personal grievances.

  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

  • Implement and actively support corporate safety policies, initiatives, and plant housekeeping standards.

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and initiate immediate and long-term corrections.

  • Support the plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost goals.

  • Supervise construction and maintenance projects.

  • Assist in the implementation of divisional and corporate policies.

  • Maintain schedule and quality requirements.

  • Initiate contact with internal and external teams when required to solve problems.

  • Implement planned maintenance activities.

  • Complete work assignments within budget, manpower, and timing constraints.

Essential Skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Familiarity with machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.

  • Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.

  • 2 years experience in supervision, maintenance technician roles, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical troubleshooting, safety, and maintenance management.

  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Organizational leadership, management degree, and technical degree are advantageous.

  • Familiarity with die cast processes and union experience is beneficial.

  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends.

Work Environment

The environment is very high-paced, requiring quick adjustments and the ability to juggle multiple tasks. The facility is not air-conditioned, and attendance is crucial. The team consists of 15 to 20 members and 2 team leaders. The schedule is flexible, with work cycles of 7 out of every 14 days, across different shifts. Maintenance schedules include three shifts (7:00 am-3:30 pm, 3:00 pm-11:30 pm, and 10:30 pm-7:30 am), while production schedules run from 5:30 am to 6 pm and 5:30 pm to 6 am.

This is a Contract position based out of Bedford, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
