Robert Half Medical Receptionist in Beckley, West Virginia

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our pulmonology practice in Beckley, West Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by providing exceptional administrative and patient support services. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and values accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills. This is a long-term contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients warmly and manage check-in and check-out procedures with efficiency.

• Accurately collect co-pays and verify insurance details to ensure seamless billing processes.

• Coordinate and schedule patient procedures, including sleep studies, while maintaining timely follow-ups.

• Maintain organized and up-to-date patient records by handling documentation, filing, and scanning tasks.

• Perform general administrative duties such as data entry and answering inbound calls to assist patients and staff.

• Ensure a respectful and positive experience for patients by addressing their needs with care and courtesy.

• Support providers and staff by managing a busy workload and prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Protect patient confidentiality by adhering to policies and procedures for handling sensitive information.

• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems efficiently to store and retrieve patient data.

• Adapt to the dynamic needs of the practice and contribute to its smooth operation. Requirements • Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients and staff in a detail-oriented manner.

• Proficiency in handling financial transactions, including co-pays and insurance verifications.

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.

• Ability to work independently while supporting the needs of both patients and healthcare providers.

• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
