Nike Lead Professional, NA Comms Planning & Operations in Beaverton, Oregon

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll work closely with communications peers across the North America communications team including our brand, employee, media and creator storytelling teammates. You will also work closely with your global operations teammates to synthesize key planning and operations best practices; approaches and learnings to adapt and amplify with the NA communications team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Lead Professional, NA Communications Planning & Operations who is seasoned at driving operational excellence and rigor in all aspects of planning and operations within a fast paced and dynamic functional environment. Your experience will deliver essential capabilities in thought partnership, planning and operations to support and scale communications effectiveness across the NA communications team. This person is also responsible for helping our geo brand teams implement a measurement approach building on the foundations of our global functional metrics. By executing operational strategies and establishing streamlined processes, the Lead Professional will ensure the team consistently delivers high-impact brand and business communications work and moves at speed to prioritize, align and activate our must win projects.

This person will also be responsible for cultivating a forward-looking approach to planning and operations bringing an “outside in” perspective to continually evolve and improve how we collectively work efficiently and effectively together. The candidate would benefit having a passion for sport, an ability to deliver new ways of thinking and be proactive, creative, and solutions oriented.

Successful candidates will bring a positive, team-oriented mindset, be curious, have strong strategic instincts and be able to handle ambiguity to work across our geo communications team and liaising with our global planning and operations teammates.

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in Business, Operations, Communications, Strategy, Management Consulting or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.

• Demonstrated strength in strategic planning and communications

• Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and organize multiple workstreams for collective impact.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

Planning Development and Execution:

  • Work with NA Communications & Global Operations teammates to adopt and adapt communications plans that align with prioritized themes and support our function’s three-year storytelling focus on athlete-centered innovation. This role will:

  • Work withourGeoSport leads to ensure Communications plans are aligned to our shared Inspire Pillar priorities, with a sharp focus on Communications’ differentiators for the business

  • Work withGeo Marketingand Sport leads to ensure plans are aligned to the key prioritiesthatwillimpactthe business

  • Diagnose & resolvegeofunctional gaps & workstream needs to build a path forward (identifyand operationalize action items and/or redirect to responsible parties) through efficient and effective team wiring mechanisms.

  • Guide teammates toward expected level of information and detail as defined by our standardization efforts.

  • SupportNA Commswith measurement and KPIs

  • Become a trusted resource as it relates to planning process between geosport; media and employee leads;alongsideglobalplanning and operations teammates

  • Develop a consistent and productive relationship withgeopeers in Brand and Sports Marketing (Inspire Pillar), consistently learning and adapting our shared priorities as they relate to the Global Communications Key Themesand NA business priorities.

  • Build an enduring system for aligning ourgeoshared priorities.

  • Determinehow and when these priorities are integrated into our Comms Planning Process, and ensure theglobal planning and operations teamhasappropriate visibilityto it.

Process Excellence:

  • Stay current on NIKE, Inc. Code gates, keyNAgeoplanning dates and gates,sport moments, and look for opportunities for NA Communications to integrate into our own Planning Process.

  • Standardize the way thatNA commssport teams build plans to provide clarity and consistency across theteam(e.g.create expectations for what is includedin a geo plan and prep for global functional planning cycles)

  • Analyze existing workflows to streamline operations, reduce complexity, and create clear, supportive systems for team members (e.g.RACI chart development).

  • Consistentlywork with geo sport; media and employeeleadstooptimizeefficiency and drive planning integrationaround ourprojectand activation priorities.

  • Establish best in class planningandinformationsharing;rigorous prep and post key learnings for projects andthorough / repeatablerecapsandKPIbenchmarkingof priority work.

  • Foster a collaborative environment, working particularly closely with theNA Comms LT and the Global Performance, Planning & Operations team, to achieve sharedobjectivesand promote open communicationandhigh-impact results.
