Wright-Patt Credit Union Inc. Configuration Management Database Engineer in Beavercreek, Ohio
The Configuration Management Database Engineer is responsible for implementation, governance, and ongoing management of our enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB). They are also responsible for and contributing to IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes across the organization and on-going maintenance of the computer systems to be in line with the organization’s guidelines or SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
1) Contribute to CMDB strategy, roadmap, and governance framework. (30%)
a) Maintain CI Relationships, Service Models, and Application Services.
b) Define and enforce CI class rules, naming standards, and lifecycle states.
c) Manage CMDB reconciliation, identification rules, and data normalization.
d) Oversee integration data sources (SCCM/Intune, vCenter, cloud providers).
e) Implement automation for CMDB updates using Flow Designer or Integration Hub.
2) Manage CMDB data quality, audits, reconciliation rules, and health dashboards. (15%)
3) Oversee ServiceNow® Discovery, ServiceNow® Service Mapping, and integrations with key data sources. (10%)
4) Partner with ITSM, Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Audit, and Governance teams to ensure accurate and trusted CI data. (10%)
5) Develop KPI reporting and provide executive-level insights on CMDB health and maturity. (10%)
6) Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure. Establish, configure, test, install, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Evaluate existing systems and provide technical direction to IT support staff. Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements. Plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency. Oversee the constant availability of technical resources. Maintain and supervise inventory. (5%)
7) Performing system and server patch management for asset monitoring, security, and inventory related tools and processes. Patching, package creation, client deployment, and reporting (5%)
8) Supports the servicing and troubleshooting of workstation assets throughout the organization. (5%)
9) Provides escalation coverage for the Service Desk. (5%)
10) Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated. (5%)
Required Skills
1) A Technical or Associates Degree and two years’ experience. Candidates who present an equivalent combination of formal training and experience specific to Information Technology may also be considered.
2) Preferred Certifications
· ServiceNow CIS – Data Foundation, Discovery, Service Mapping
· ServiceNow CSA
· ITIL v3/v4 Foundation
3) 3 – 5 years in ITSM (ServiceNow® Preferred), IT operations, or IT governance roles.
4) 3+ years’ hands-on experience managing a Configuration Management Database.
5) Strong knowledge of CSDM, Discovery, Service Mapping, and CI lifecycle management.
6) Patch management experience in a midsized or larger network environment.
7) Experience in the 2nd or 3rd tier support of mid‐sized networks or greater.
8) Strong time management skills in technical environments and project management.
9) Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
10) Ability to pass background check for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) or Department of Defense (DoD) to acquire “Contractor” badge is required.
