Job Description

The Welder and Fabricator reads and interprets engineering drawings, cuts and shapes metal components, and performs high-quality welding and fabrication to produce parts and assemblies that meet company specifications, safety standards, and production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols to understand project requirements and specifications.

  • Fabricate metal components using cutting, bending, and forming tools to create precise parts and assemblies.

  • Perform welding operations, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core processes as required by each project.

  • Assemble parts and structures according to specifications, ensuring correct alignment, fit, and structural integrity.

  • Inspect finished welds and fabricated parts for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.

  • Operate fabrication equipment such as presses, grinders, saws, and drills in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Maintain welding and fabrication equipment, tools, and workstations in good working condition and report any issues promptly.

  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve fabrication or design issues and improve manufacturability.

  • Meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards and consistent workmanship.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a welder and fabricator in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in at least one welding process, such as MIG, TIG, or Stick welding.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.

  • Strong knowledge of metal types, welding methods, and fabrication techniques.

  • Competence in using cutting, bending, and forming tools for metal fabrication.

  • Ability to operate fabrication equipment including presses, grinders, saws, and drills.

  • Basic math and measurement skills to ensure accurate cutting, fitting, and assembly.

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during the shift.

  • Attention to detail with a focus on weld quality, accuracy, and structural soundness.

  • Strong commitment to following safety procedures and OSHA standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience working in a production-focused manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding processes.

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting structural and fabrication drawings.

  • Experience with grinding, finishing, and structural fabrication work.

  • Ability to work first shift hours, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, well-lit manufacturing environment equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and modern welding and fabrication equipment. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime available as production demands. The facility emphasizes safety, organization, and efficient workflows to support high-quality production and a comfortable, professional workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaver, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
