STAFFING SUPPORT SPECIALISTS Grinder in BEAVER DAM, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Title: Grinder Location: West Bend, WI Shift: 2nd Shift, 3:00pm - 11:30pm Pay Range: \$19.00 - \$24.00 / hour BASIC FUNCTION Sets up and operates spring grinding machines in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for installing and adjusting grinding wheels to ensure precise, quality results. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Loads springs into grinder and monitors the grinding process to achieve proper grind specifications. Inspects finished springs for correctly ground ends and verifies desired length tolerances are met. Selects, installs, and adjusts grinding wheels based on job requirements. Sets up machines for production runs, including adjusting feed rates, speeds, and grinding pressure. Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints, and job specifications to ensure parts meet required dimensions and quality standards. Uses precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions. Monitors production output for consistency and makes adjustments to maintain quality throughout the run. Identifies and troubleshoots basic machine malfunctions; escalates mechanical issues to maintenance as needed. Performs routine machine maintenance including lubrication, cleaning, and wheel dressing. Follows all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintains accurate production records including quantity, scrap, and inspection results. Supports and mentors less experienced operators in tooling selection and proper equipment operation. Keeps work area clean and organized in compliance with 5S or housekeeping standards. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Prior experience in a manufacturing or machining operating/set up environment a plus. Skills & Abilities Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, safety rules, plant policies, and procedure manuals. Proficient in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals across all units of measure.
