Position Overview
The Shift Manager is responsible for leading restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining brand standards, and supporting team performance. This role serves as the manager-on-duty and is accountable for operational excellence, team leadership, and achieving sales and profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
Supervise and lead Team Members during assigned shifts.
Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
Guest Service Excellence
Ensure all guests are greeted promptly and courteously.
Resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Model exceptional customer service standards at all times.
Operations Management
Oversee food and beverage preparation to ensure adherence to brand standards.
Monitor speed of service and product quality.
Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to operational procedures.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Cash Handling and Financial Accountability
Manage and verify cash drawers, deposits, and safe counts.
Oversee accurate POS transactions and cash control procedures.
Assist in achieving sales targets and controlling labor and food costs.
Inventory and Facility Maintenance
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving supplies.
Ensure proper storage and rotation of products (FIFO).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, including dining areas, kitchen, restrooms, and equipment.
Administrative Duties
Complete shift reports and daily paperwork accurately.
Communicate effectively with upper management regarding operations and team performance.
Assist with scheduling and labor management as directed.
Qualifications
Previous food service or quick-service restaurant experience required.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
Basic math and computer skills (POS systems).
Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
