Hiring Sheet Metal Mechanics Throughout Delaware
This role focuses on the fabrication, installation, insulation, and maintenance of commercial duct systems in a variety of commercial and industrial settings. You will work with sheet metal and ductwork from blueprint to finished installation, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe HVAC air distribution systems.
Pay: $25 - $35/hour + Weekly Pay!
Shift: Day Shift
Responsibilities
Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal sheets to fabricate duct components using tools such as shears, press brakes, and welding equipment.
Install commercial ductwork in new and existing buildings, ensuring proper alignment, secure fastening, and adherence to project specifications.
Use welding, riveting, and bolting techniques to assemble and secure duct sections and related components.
Wrap, line, and seal ductwork with appropriate insulation materials to improve energy efficiency and reduce noise transmission.
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately plan, lay out, and route duct systems.
Verify measurements and dimensions to ensure ductwork fits within structural and mechanical constraints.
Inspect newly installed and existing duct systems for accuracy, functionality, and air tightness, making adjustments or repairs as needed.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on duct systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with applicable standards.
Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently while following all site and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with other trades and team members on job sites to coordinate work and maintain project schedules.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, including measuring, cutting, bending, and shaping metal sheets.
Proficiency in commercial ductwork installation, including duct layout, assembly, and fastening.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and project specifications.
Experience with duct installation for HVAC systems in commercial or industrial environments.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools commonly used in sheet metal and ductwork installation.
Knowledge of mechanical systems related to ductwork and HVAC air distribution.
Capability to perform inspections and basic maintenance on duct systems to ensure proper performance.
Eligibility to work at apprentice or journeyman level, with appropriate trade experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
