Physical Therapist Assistant
Location: Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Beacon
Rate: $30.00-hour to $34.83-hour (depending on experience)
Shift: Full-Time and Part-Time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for applying physical therapy modalities, providing therapeutic exercise and functional training with ADLs, providing gait and balance training using specific equipment, documenting progress, conferring with the Physical Therapist regarding patient/resident program modifications, assisting with evaluative techniques, participating in care planning, and other duties as assigned by the Physical Therapist.
REQUIREMENTS:
AAS in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program and Certificate of Registration in New York State
CPR certification
Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs
Able to collaborate with a wide range of healthcare disciplines
Possess thorough knowledge of the educational and therapeutic values of physical therapy, including being acquainted with patient/resident diagnosis, precautions/contraindications, and current treatment protocols
Strong written and verbal communication skills
