As a Principal Engineer, you’ll guide large-scale projects, champion technical excellence, and help define the next chapter of our mining practice. Your Impact
Lead high-profile mine waste projects that influence environmental outcomes and community safety
Drive innovation in tailings design, closure planning, and regulatory strategy
Shape WSP’s mining practice through strategic planning and thought leadership
Build and strengthen client relationships while expanding market presence
Provide oversight and mentorship across multidisciplinary teams, fostering technical depth and career growth
The Skills That Set You Apart
15+ years of experience in mining, tailings, and geotechnical engineering
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant discipline
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration and recognized industry expertise
Proven success delivering complex projects at scale
Strategic mindset with experience in client portfolio development
Thought leadership in sustainable mining, risk mitigation, or closure design
Exceptional communication and mentorship capabilities

Compensation
BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $194,700 – $257,900
MB & ON: $177,600 – $244,600
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $175,800 – $233,500
