GHC is currently hiring: Ship Loose Clerk (Material Handler)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review ship loose list based on house orders, and ensure accurate inventory for each home built
- Verify material type, quantity and condition before loading
- Have materials ready to load in modules before module reaches station 9
- Load ship loose materials into house in orderly and secure fashion to prevent damage during transport
- Check in ship loose materials as they are loaded, and compare to ship loose lists provided by engineering
- Rectify miscalculations or oversights
- Determine if materials are missing, and notify purchasing and engineering immediately
- Work closely with/receiving and purchasing to make sure amounts ordered and received are correct, and if materials are missing, notify appropriate departments immediately
- Work closely with/receiving and purchasing to monitor and inventory supply levels and submit material shortages if needed
- Perform routine check of all ship loose material areas and perform clean-up and organization as needed
- Prepackage and precut standard ship loose items when necessary
- Become familiar with material rejection forms and their proper completion
- Submit material rejections for any damaged or missing material
- Sign off on completed S/L material list, and place in house file
- Follow all GHC safety procedures when lifting, transporting, or loading materials
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance in accordance with company attendance policies
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to lift 50 lbs without restriction
- Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve quickly and efficiently
- Able to multi-task and work independently
- Capable of driving a forklift and obtaining a forklift license
- Be systematic and organized in approach to review
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
