Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to join a prototype machine shop located in Saginaw, Michigan. This position offers a first shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm, and Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with optional Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC machines for various jobs.

  • Make program edits on the machine as required.

  • Perform machine set-ups, offsets, and tool changes.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate machining.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with CNC Mill.

  • Experience in operating and setting up own jobs.

  • Proficiency in making program edits on the machine.

  • Experience in performing machine set-ups, offsets, and tool changes.

  • Must possess own tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.

  • Knowledge of blueprint reading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Programming in G&M Code.

  • Experience with Mazak.

  • Experience working with 1018 carbon steel and aluminum.

  • Experience with low volume work, multiple set-ups, blueprint reading/GD&T, manufacturing fixtures, prototype low volume parts.

Work Environment

The machine shop environment is extremely clean and air-conditioned in the summer, with heating in the winter. The first shift runs from 6:00am to 4:30pm, with Fridays offering overtime from 6:00am to 2:30pm, including a half-hour lunch break each day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay City, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
