Job Summary The Apprentice Carpenter is responsible for assisting carpenters with project construction and executing quality craftsmanship. Duties/Responsibilities Assist carpenters with project construction. Perform labor associated with construction including nailing and cutting lumber to size. Observe and follow company safety policies Attend company safety meetings as required. Ask for help or instruction when unsure of what to do in any given situation. Recognize an unsafe condition and bring it to the attention of the foreman or superintendent. Interact well with customers, vendors, and subcontractors. Keep job site clean & properly stack and protect materials from the elements. Perform proper care and basic maintenance of all on-site company tools and equipment. Support carpenters as needed for increased productivity through proper planning and looking ahead. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Frequently works with/near machinery, electricity, power tools, impact tools, chemicals, fumes, and heights. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in all weather conditions. Ability to regularly lift 25 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. This position will have occasional use and operation of motor vehicles and operate foot pedals. Travel may be required.
