Job Description
We are seeking a Specialist 3, Employee Relations to join our People Experience team in Penang, Malaysia. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management, fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and employment regulations. You will handle complex employee relations matters with professionalism, empathy, and discretion, supporting the organization's commitment to fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disputes in a timely and impartial manner
Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters
Support performance management processes, including documentation, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary
Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives and programs to enhance workplace culture and retention
Conduct employee relations training for managers on topics such as conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace conduct
Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations records and documentation
Analyze employee relations trends and metrics to identify patterns and recommend preventive measures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address organizational development and employee experience challenges
Ensure compliance with local employment laws and organizational policies throughout all employee relations activities
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
5+ years of professional experience in employee relations, human resources, or a related field
Proven experience investigating employee complaints and managing conflict resolution
PREFERRED:
Strong knowledge of employment law, workplace policies, and HR best practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
Experience supporting performance management and employee development initiatives
Ability to remain objective and impartial when addressing employee relations matters
Experience with union or workplace culture initiatives
Familiarity with mediation or conflict resolution techniques
