Job Description
Maintenance Technician performs mechanical, electrical, and controls maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a wide range of automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced automotive production facility. This multi-craft role focuses on keeping hydraulic thermoforming presses, ovens, robotic waterjets, three-phase motors, and Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs and HMIs operating safely and efficiently. The technician regularly connects to equipment with a laptop to diagnose issues, adjust parameters, and edit control programs and drives as needed, helping ensure consistent production of interior sound deadening components for the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Safely troubleshoot live electrical panels and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and controls-related problems on hydraulic thermoforming presses, ovens, robotic waterjets, three-phase motors, and related systems.
Monitor, repair, and adjust manufacturing equipment and systems to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
Connect to control systems and drives using a laptop to troubleshoot faults, adjust parameters, and make minor program edits as needed.
Edit and modify control programs on programmable devices such as Allen-Bradley SLC-500, ControlLogix, PanelView, and PanelView Plus.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of experience working in a maintenance department within a manufacturing environment.
At least 3 years of experience working with and maintaining automated machinery.
At least 1 year of hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience in an industrial setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude w ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures on production equipment.
Proficiency in industrial electrical work, including working with three-phase power, motors, and control circuits.
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Battle Creek, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
