What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end design and development of WMS solutions and guiding teams through delivery, integration, and operational readiness.
Understand business requirements and partner to achieve scalable solutions with AIMS.
Provide technical guidance and lead medium to high effort enhancement/build projects.
Collaborate with software vendor partners like Witron, AIMS application vendor, and act as a technical SME/liaison by understanding the application architecture, schema and existing or future interfaces, application enhancements and projects.
Plan and address the stability, risk, and recovery concerns of WMS application suite by
Manage priorities between the projects, meet project aligned expectations on scope, quality, schedule, and budget of project.
Act as technical lead/mentor on team to provide skill uplift to junior team members.
Provide hyper care support and build to run transition, lessons learnt documentation for the projects implemented.
Qualifications
8-12 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the application of these systems into operational processes
Strong project management and technical leadership experience with WMS systems
Excellent leadership, project management, analytical, communications and collaboration skills
Experience in resolving WMS application and integration issues, including troubleshooting production incidents, performing root cause analysis, and partnering with operations, vendors, and support teams to restore service and prevent recurrence
Hands-on experience with WMS in warehouse and distribution operations environments, supporting operational workflows, issue resolution, and system alignment with day-to-day DC activities
Development of policies, procedures and providing training/ support to end users
Team player, with excellent communication skills, customer service, and client management experience a must
Drive and ability to learn new technologies & platforms

Anticipated salary range: $123,400 - $176,300
