Job Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd/3rd Shifts
Job Description
As a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician, you will support the production team as the mechanical expert in a millwright capacity. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that production and support equipment are functioning optimally. You will perform preventative maintenance procedures on motors, conveyor systems, filling equipment, and other industrial machinery. This position requires working full-time on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Responsibilities
Ensure production and support equipment are functioning properly.
Perform preventative maintenance on motors, conveyor systems, filling equipment, and other machinery.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
Conduct basic electrical duties, such as replacing motors and switches, with support from an industrial electrician or PLC programmer for complex situations.
Perform package changeovers on lines as required.
Support the team in all aspects of operation.
Train team members on mechanical processes.
Focus on continuous improvement and maintain a safe, clean work environment in accordance with ISO Good Manufacturing Practices standards.
Essential Skills
Mechanically inclined with experience in maintenance technician roles.
Proficient in electrical troubleshooting.
Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance, including conveyor and assembly line maintenance.
Knowledge of high-speed manufacturing environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
High school diploma or GED, or 2-4 years of related experience and/or training.
Proficient knowledge in operating continuous motion packaging, filling, and palletizing equipment.
Effective problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions in various forms.
Knowledge of mechanical processes such as hydraulics and pneumatics.
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules as required.

Work Environment
Shifts include 2nd shift from 3pm to 1:30pm and 3rd shift from 8pm to 6:30am. The role requires frequent walking, grasping, pushing, pulling, and exposure to chemicals, water, and noise.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
