Minimum Qualifications
Three years of human resources experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Human Resources Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting HR operations by analyzing workforce data, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and assisting in the development of effective personnel strategies. In this role, you will:
Incumbent must possess a detailed knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations pertaining to Payroll and Retirement including entry into LaGov HCM, LASERS and Teachers Retirement System.
Counsels employees during the pre-retirement process to ensure they have the proper documents, certificates, etc., that are necessary for completing retirement applications.
Processes LASERS forms and submits retirement/DROP forms to retirement system prior to the effective date.
Enters all retroactive time entry corrections into LaGov HCM.
Processes LASERS forms and submits retirement/DROP forms to retirement system prior to the effective date.
Assists the Human Resources Supervisor in reviewing time entries for correctness and assists with necessary adjustments.
Performs random payroll audits of time administrator's payroll entries within assigned areas.
Responsible for reviewing payroll reports, required documentation, prior period adjustments, and other factors which might warrant additional time administrator training.
Provide feedback to time administrator and supervisor for process improvement.
The incumbent serves as back up for Employee Administration, staffing and benefits human resources activities for approximately 300 to 400 employees.
Provides support to the emergency support section during events; attends necessary training and maintains the required documentation of activities.

Full-time - t his position may be filled by probation or by promotion of a classified employee of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry serving with permanent status.
Applicants who are not permanent employees of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry will be required to serve a probationary period up to 24 months.
Career Progression : This position may be filled as a Human Resources Analyst A, B, or C, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Other Benefits: This position is eligible to receive a Special Entrance Rate.
