Summary:
The role of Gauge Assembly Technician involves adhering to Company Quality Standardization Procedures, reviewing and comprehending technical drawings, and performing setup and assembly of gauge components for various applications. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting gauge assembly schematics, maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean and safe work area, following written and verbal instructions, assembling and calibrating gauge components to manufacturer specifications, and measuring and marking reference points on workpieces. The role also requires performing routine maintenance tasks on equipment, operating manual assembly tools as needed, and having knowledge of basic measuring tools such as calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers. Additionally, there is an introductory learning component for various measuring instruments, including pressure gauges, temperature gauges, and flow meters.
Responsibilities:
Follow Company Quality Standardization Procedures for all aspects of the gauge assembly process
Review and comprehend technical drawings
Setup and assembly of gauge components for various applications
Read and interpret gauge assembly schematics
Maintain equipment and ensure work area is clean and safe at all times
Follow written and verbal instructions
Assemble and calibrate various gauge components to manufacturer specifications
Measure, mark, or scribe reference points on workpieces as guides
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment as required
Operate manual assembly tools as needed
Knowledge of basic measuring tools (calipers, dial indicators, micrometers)
Introductory learning of various measuring instruments (pressure gauges, temperature gauges, flow meters)
Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Experience
HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
Assembly degree preferred
Up to 1 year industry experience
Skills & Abilities
A clear understanding of assembly safety
Demonstrates proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Proper knowledge to operate assembly equipment
Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
Basic oral & written communication skills
Ability to convert fractions to decimals efficiently and vice versa
Demonstrated "can do" attitude
Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines
Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
Essential Physical Functions
Lifting: up to 50 pounds
Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
Able to pass periodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
Communicating with others to exchange information
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Operating machinery and/or power tools
Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
