Job Title: Civil Foreman
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Civil Foreman to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing and guiding construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that all operations are performed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Responsibilities
Attend pre‑construction meetings and provide input on project scope, contract terms, schedule, plans, budget, subcontracts, and purchase order details.
Assist the Superintendent in developing an initial construction schedule for each project, ensuring that planning phases align with deadlines.
Ensure timely delivery and stocking of materials, tracking any budget additions and updates from the Project Manager.
Coordinate mobilization, site layout, subcontractor work, equipment needs, and demobilization. Collaborate with other subcontractors on site.
Manage all field operations, including safety compliance, equipment maintenance, site cleanliness, and timely ordering and tracking of materials.
Work with the Project Manager and Superintendent to plan and schedule upcoming tasks, ensuring timely deliveries and communicating any expected delays.
Complete daily field reports, including rain delays, testing results, and delivery tracking. Collect and distribute backup documents like delivery tickets.
Collaborate with owners, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve design and detail issues during construction.
Ensure sufficient manpower and equipment to meet the project schedule. Review field employee performance and provide recommendations on staffing, development, evaluations, and pay.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or technical training in construction or a related field is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with 2 years in a foreman or lead role.
Experience with projects such as earthwork, utilities, roads, bridges, concrete, grading, or site development.
Strong understanding of heavy civil construction processes and sequencing.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts.
Familiarity with surveying/layout, grades, elevations, and basic field engineering.
Knowledge of equipment, tools, and materials used in heavy civil construction.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of working professionally with owners, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and coworkers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic ability to use construction software, tablets, and electronic reporting tools.
Able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift materials as needed on an active job site.
Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel when the project requires it.
Must pass a drug test and any other required site testing.
Must have a valid driver’s license and proper identification.

This is a Permanent position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Vehicle allowance, phone allowance, fuel card. We also have health, dental, vision, and other optional insurance coverages

This is a fully onsite position in Baton Rouge,LA.
