TheLouisiana State Police / Transportation Safety Services (TSS)is comprised of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE), Mobile Weight Enforcement (MWE), and Towing and Recovery Units (TRU). The primary responsibilities of TSS includes reducing the number and severity of commercial motor vehicle crashes as well as protecting the state’s highway infrastructure. TSS also ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations governing commercial vehicles, the towing and recovery industry, vehicle storage facilities, and motor vehicle inspection stations. These objectives are accomplished through a program of roadside safety inspections, annual facility inspections, and educational outreach initiatives.

TheAdministrative Program Manager 1receives broad supervision from higher level State Police Commissioned Troopers and is responsible for directing the activities of TSS Program Specialist A positions as well as performing many of the duties assigned to the TSS Program Specialist A administrative personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As an Administrative Program Manager 1, you will oversee program operations, coordinate administrative functions, and ensure the effective implementation of policies and procedures to support organizational goals. In this role, you will:

  • Supervise and manage administrative operations for Commercial Vehicle Enforcement programs

  • Oversee daily operations of the Louisiana Truck Center, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery

  • Prepare, review, and coordinate timely submission of correspondence, reports, and special requests

  • Administer and coordinate the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement administrative hearing program

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
