Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract with the potential for a permanent position. Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing department within the healthcare and social assistance industry. In this position, you will handle a variety of accounts payable tasks, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial documents while supporting the overall success of the finance team.
Responsibilities:
• Manage administrative and clerical functions for the Accounts Payable and Finance Department.
• Process daily transactions and controls promptly, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal business partners.
• Assist with both internal and external audit activities as needed.
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming departmental mail.
• Organize, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and related financial documents.
• Verify, log, and process checks, including handling special requests with urgency.
• Participate in special projects and assignments as directed by management. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience working in an Accounts Payable role is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, particularly when working with both technical and financial teams.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes such as coding invoices, check runs, and invoice processing.
