DescriptionPro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. was established in 1965 with a mission to combat poverty and improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in Steuben and Yates counties. Over the years, the organization has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community. The agency's philosophy in addressing poverty has also evolved, incorporating evidence-based practices and holistic approaches to better serve the community. The Center Program Assistant will be responsible for assisting the FRC Coordinator with daily operations of the Center. Will provide a welcoming and caring environment that promotes family well-being through resources, education, and information. Will provide oversight when the coordinator is not available. Will assist in the development of the monthly calendar of programs for events and activities, maintain the cleanliness of supplies and equipment, and provide child care during parenting groups. Ideal SkillsStrong computer skills with basic knowledge of Excel Microsoft office and other office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax etc...Ability to interact with customers from a variety of backgrounds and with different levels of management. Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.RequirementsThis position requires a High School diploma or equivalent.The ideal candidate must have a drivers license that meets agency standards and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
