Early Head Start Teachers are responsible for daily planning and implementation of the early childhood curriculum; providing a safe, nurturing learning environment; and supervising the classroom to ensure a smooth flow of daily activities and events. Working together as part of the center team, the teachers conduct child assessments, meet with families, encourage parent engagement in their childrens education, and serve as role models for parents in educating their children.
Qualifications:
Infant/Toddler CDA, associates degree in early childhood education. Bachelors degree in early childhood education preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of infant/toddler development.
Must have the ability to establish caring, professional relationships with children.
Knowledge of family systems and ability to develop rapport with and establish trust and respect with families and staff.
- Prior experience working with young children is essential; must have an interest in working with children from low-income families.
- Must be able to lift a child (up to approximately 40 pounds) and be capable of physically bending to a child\'s level or sitting on the floor.
Responsibilities:
Conducts a developmentally appropriate instructional center-based program for infants and toddlers.
Conducts individual observations, assessments, and developmentally appropriate activities for the purpose of measuring growth and development.
Plans, organizes, executes and supervises the daily lesson plan for the purpose of carrying out established program requirements.
Plan and arrange the classroom into distinctive learning areas that promote an effective learning
Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license, adequate automobile insurance per state standards, and access to reliable transportation; compliance with MMCA policies pertaining to safe vehicle operation required.
Prior to starting employment, must be able to pass fingerprinted criminal background, child protective services, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record checks, as required by state and federal childcare licensing regulations, that indicate no previous record of involvement with child abuse or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal or motor vehicle record that would preclude working with children.
Persons offered employment must also provide a physicians health statement, immunization records, and TB screening. Proof of full vaccination against COVID is required as a condition of employment unless exemption for medical or religious reasons is requested and approved in accordance with law.

Rate of pay will be dependent upon experience and other qualifications.
This position is full-time 40 hours and benefits eligible.
