ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
· Receives instructions from supervisor on work to be done.
· Sets up sewing machines for operation; cleans and oils machines, adjust stitching, changes needles, bobbins, threads, etc.
· Performs minor maintenance as needed.
· Obtains cut materials such as panels and welt (or binding tape for double needle operations) and places welt, welt cord, and material under machines presser foot.
· Operates sewing machine by pressing foot control and moving materials under needle to sew covers to specifications.
· Visually inspects sewn parts for conformance to specifications and asides completed covers to roller box.
· Moves roller boxed in or out as needed.
· Records and reports production as required.
· Maintains work area in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
· Meets all quality and productions standards.
· Adheres to all safety guidelines for job performed.
· Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
