We’re looking for a Group Internal Auditor to join our corporate team, based in Basingstoke with international travel. This role is about strengthening how we operate, assessing risk, improving controls and helping our attractions and teams perform at their best. You will play a key role in delivering independent, value-adding audits that support better decision making across the business.
Reporting into the Group Internal Audit Manager, you will join a team of 30,000 extraordinary teammates where success is a team sport and play leads the way.
What you will be doing
The below outlines the core responsibilities of the role, with a structured training plan in place to support you in developing the skills and confidence to deliver internal audits across our global attractions and group functions, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
You’ll assess and test key processes and controls, ensuring compliance with Merlin policies and local regulations.
You will produce clear, concise audit reports that drive action and add value.
From planning through to delivery, you will keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
You will collaborate with teams across the business, supporting risk-based audit planning.
You will follow up on audit findings, ensuring actions are implemented effectively.
You will be a trusted partner to teams across Merlin, confident in challenging existing practices and offering practical, solutions-focused recommendations.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in Basingstoke, with approximately 30% international travel.
Qualifications & Experience
You’re a proactive, detail-focused auditor who is confident working across a global business. You bring strong technical knowledge alongside the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
You should also bring:
A professional accountancy qualification, CCAB or equivalent.
Experience in audit, risk or controls within a complex organisation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical thinking and report writing skills.
An interest in using tools and technology to improve audit processes.
A willingness to travel and work across different cultures and teams.
Desirable
Demonstrated interest in developing technical IT audit skills, with a view to pursuing CISA certification
Experience in organisations operating in similar industries to Merlin Entertainments
Operating in international and multi-cultural organisation
