POSITION: Union Data CenterCabling Technician I
About the Role:
As a Technician 1,you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of low voltagecabling infrastructure within a data center environment. This role involvesrunning cables, connecting wires, and ensuring proper installation of allinternal infrastructure. You will work under supervision, performing tasks withinstalled cables, and adhering to safety protocols. The position may requireworking both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in confined or elevated spaces,and interacting with customers to address concerns and provide support.
What You’ll Do:
· Installation/decommissioningof network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
· Deliversustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
· Providestructured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
· Exhibitquality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
· Followall production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
· Collaboratewith various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
· Readingand comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
· Broadunderstanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
What You’ll Need:
· Knowledgeand use of basic telecom hand tools.
· Mustunderstand customer service.
· Clearunderstanding of job safety requirements.
· Beable to read and understand floor plans.
· Shouldbe familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing.
· Shouldbe able to pull all types of low voltage cable.
· Shouldunderstand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling.
· Reportsto Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II,Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians.
· Capableof maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running service jobs.
· Possessskill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable, andperform all type of terminations.
· Capableof working in Data Centers
· Shallbe able to install ladder racking and seismic bracing both above and underraise floor.
· Basicunderstanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
· Readand understand blueprints and design document
· Dressand furcate fiber trunks for splicing
· Maintainingorderly paperwork and running service
· FusionSplice including Ribbon/Single OSP/ISP
· Install,connect, and decom network equipment
· OperateDSX 5000 tester/OTDR Tester
· Programtesters
· Downloadtest results to Linkware/Linkware Live
· Savetest results, verify, and submit to customer
· Createmass labels and apply per Portmap
· Differentiatelive cables from decom cable
· Coppertesting and troubleshooting
· ConductService Swaps of live networking devices
· Understand\"FIM\" database and operate scanners

What You’ll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

The minimum salary for the Building Engineer position is $33.65 per hour and the maximum salary for the position is $37.01 per hour.
