Job Title: Hydraulic Assembler Job Description

As a Hydraulic Assembler, you will be responsible for building hydraulic power units and performing mechanical assembly. This role involves bending rigid pipes to precise angles and dimensions using both power and hand bending equipment. You will plumb the reservoir system, including pumps, heat exchangers, filters, return lines, and electric motors. Additionally, threading metal pipes, MIG welding brackets, and assembling components as per blueprints and schematics will be key duties. The role also requires the use of a 2-inch plasma cutter, hand-drills, drill presses, band saws, and grinders for fabricating parts, as well as creating custom hoses.

Responsibilities

  • Build hydraulic power units.

  • Perform mechanical assembly.

  • Bend rigid pipes to correct angles and dimensions.

  • Utilize power and hand bending equipment.

  • Plumb reservoir systems including pumps, heat exchangers, filters, return lines, and electric motors.

  • Thread metal pipes.

  • MIG weld brackets to hold components in place.

  • Assemble components per blueprints/schematics.

  • Use a 2-inch plasma cutter for cutting holes.

  • Use hand-drills, drill presses, band saws, and grinders to fabricate additional parts.

  • Create custom hoses by cutting and crimping.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and follow blueprints/schematics, especially hydraulic schematics.

  • Hydraulics knowledge including assembly and component identification.

  • 1+ years of experience in pipe bending, threading, and cutting.

  • Experience using fabrication tools like plasma cutters, cutoff wheels, and angle grinders.

  • Proficiency with hand tools such as adjustable wrenches, combination wrenches, pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, and hammers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • MIG welding skills, including ability to tack weld brackets, valves, and fittings to pipes.

  • Experience using hydraulic schematics for fabrication and assembly.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, climate-controlled, and well-lit manufacturing facility dedicated solely to new machine assembly, ensuring a safe and organized environment. The shop floor is meticulously maintained. The position is on the first shift with a flexible start time between 6:30 am and 7:00 am, working an 8.5-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Expect a consistent 40-hour workweek with minimal overtime during periods of increased demand. Once trained, start times can range from as early as 5:00 am to as late as 8:00 am for an 8-hour shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bartlett, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
