We are seeking 3 FEMALE compassionate, patient, and engaging Developmental Support Workers to support young male/female client with behaviors. Clients may experience social anxiety, high aggressive behaviors, non verbal, Autism, and various other behaviors.
We have 3 casual DSWs vacancy available .
Job Benefits:
Pay $25.00 per hour
Benefits Plan available after working 30+ hours per week*
4% Vacation Pay on every pay
Flexible hours
Responsibilities:
Engage clients in activities according to care plan
Meal Prep, feeding, bathing, personal care involvement, all ADL's
Light house work may be required.
Supporting participation and transportation to outside programs may be required
Provide gentle encouragement and emotional support to help reduce anxiety.
Promote independence, social skills, and a positive self-image through meaningful interactions.
Maintain professionalism, respect, and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
Experience or education in Developmental Services required
Previous experience supporting individuals with high behaviors, autism or social anxiety.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Reliable, patient, and compassionate.
Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan.
Providing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual support
Clear communication skills
Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
Responding to all emergency situations
All other duties, as assigned
Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:
DSW certification from a public college/learning center
Experience of over 2 years is required*
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license is required
Valid CPR/First Aid certification
Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
Safe Management Certificate or CPI Blue Card valid withing last 6 months
2 Satisfactory professional references
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgement and tact in handling confidential matters
