Purpose of job
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Building Management System (BMS) Specialist to join our current team and support one of the largest BMS portfolios in the world. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong technical foundation in BMS programming, coupled with good HVAC understanding. The successful candidate will spearhead efforts to maintain, enhance, and optimize our global services, ensuring seamless BMS functionality and delivering unparalleled customer experiences.
Key job responsibilities
• Maintain and optimize BMS technologies, IoT platforms, and data analytics of the BMS.
• Monitor and maintain ticket/work order processes and queues while ensuring customer care and quality meet the high bar.
• Monitor and analyze BMS data to proactively identify and action opportunities for optimization, energy efficiency, and cost savings.
• Design, implement and manage BMS Standard Operating Procedures, Policies and Processes which are scalable across the globe.
• Support the development and execute a comprehensive strategy for maintaining, improving, and expanding our global support services.
• Collaborate closely with WWRE, D&C, Sustainability, RME and other stakeholders to comprehend customer requirements, business objectives, and operational needs.
• Uphold compliance with the change management processes.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring a customer-centric approach.
• Provides strategic insights and recommendations to management on BMS trends, improvements, issues, root causes, team skillsets, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Take ownership of BMS initiatives, documenting white papers, managing timelines and stakeholders.
• Lead training sessions and development programs for internal teams and individuals to continuously enhance the capability, technical skills of field RME teams, and BMS Specialists.
• Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Willing to work flexible shifts to provide 24/7 BMS support, ensuring global customers receive timely and reliable assistance.
Basic Qualifications
Speak, write, and read fluently in English
Strong knowledge and troubleshooting of HVAC and BMS controls. Ability to remotely troubleshoot BMS communication issues, including fieldbus (BACnet, LON, Modbus via RS485), Network Gateways and IP-based protocols (Niagara Fox, MQTT, BACnet/IP, SNMP).
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics/Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience in BMS programming and commissioning, with a minimum of 3 years in building controls or related field.
Ability to integrate multiple communications protocols such as BACnet, LON, Modbus, SNMP to a single platform with normalized data for standard visualization.
Preferred Qualifications
Speak, write, and read fluently in French, Spanish, German or Italian
Certification with Tridium Niagara.
