Under the direction of the Director of Distribution, the Operations Supervisor will lead the day-to-day operations of the L’Ametlla del Vallès distribution centre. The role is responsible for operational performance, budget management, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and team leadership in a multi-attribute distribution environment handling both Dangerous Goods and non-Dangerous Goods.
This individual will drive operational excellence, ensure compliance with EU and local regulations, and support commercial teams in delivering exceptional customer service across Spain.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee all daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping.
Ensure inventory accuracy and rigorous stock control processes.
Drive service performance to meet or exceed customer expectations (OTIF, quality, responsiveness).
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, space utilization and cost efficiency.
Financial & Performance Management
Develop and manage the annual operating budget (€850k).
Maintain cost control across labour, facilities, and capital expenditures.
Deliver against operational KPIs and site performance objectives.
Support P&L performance through operational efficiency and cost discipline.
People Leadership
Lead, coach and develop a team of 4-5 warehouse employees.
Conduct performance management, development planning and training.
Foster a high-performance culture aligned with Thermo Fisher values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
Ensure workforce planning, scheduling and holiday coverage.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure full compliance with corporate, EU and Spanish regulations including ADR (Dangerous Goods), safety and environmental legislation.
Maintain ISO quality standards and act as management representative during audits.
Champion site safety culture and environmental programs (including zero waste certification).
Ensure all mandatory training is completed and current.
Facilities & Asset Management
Oversee building maintenance including mechanical, electrical, fire and security systems.
Manage capital equipment, repair and maintenance activities.
Liaise with contractors and local authorities when required.
Collaboration
Support Sales and Customer Service teams on operational matters.
Actively participate in the European distribution network to ensure process consistency and best practice sharing.
Experience
3–5 years of operational leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Hands-on experience managing physical distribution and/or transportation operations.
Experience in small team leadership within a regulated environment.
Exposure to Dangerous Goods handling (preferred).
Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen, etc.).
Demonstrated experience applying HR policies and procedures.
Languages
Spanish (fluent)
Catalan (preferred)
English (professional working proficiency)

Preferred

Travel: Occasional travel within Europe as required.
