Manager: 2 openings at Mount Desert Island Ice Cream located in Bar Harbor, ME 04609, phone: (207) 460-5515, to perform duties including ordering shop supplies; inventory management; scheduling; training; supervision of employees; daily banking/deposits/reconciliation; daily internet updates of available flavors; maintaining customer service and product quality standards; interviewing/hiring new employees; maintaining organization of the shop; communicating with vendors; and related management duties as needed/assigned. 40+ hours per week, Sunday through Saturday (1 day off, varies), shifts start as early as 8:00 a.m. and end as late as 12:00 a.m., \$18.00 per hour plus tips to reach at least \$23.20 per hour; overtime available at \$18.00 per hour plus tips to reach at least \$34.80 per hour; temporary, full-time position (April 1, 2026, to November 15, 2026). Must be able to lift boxes and supply items weighing 40 lbs. and spend many hours standing. High school/GED diploma/degree required; minimum 5 months of required experience involving retail and/or counter service in the food service industry that includes supervision of retail/counter service employees, daily banking/deposits/reconciliation, inventory management, and maintenance of product/service standards. On-the-job training provided. Performance-based bonus and/or raise possible. Optional housing available at \$700 per month, not deducted from paycheck but handled separately. Paid bi-weekly using a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due. Standard payroll deductions as required by law.
Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if worker completes half the employment period; the amount for daily subsistence will be at least \$16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of \$68.00 per day with receipts; return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Reimbursement within one week after the start of work of visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. The employer will provide workers, at no charge, with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
