Witham Family Hotels Maintenance Manager - Atlantic Oceanside Hotel & Event Center in Bar Harbor, Maine
Are you a hands-on leader who takes pride in keeping buildings running smoothly and teams performing at their best? The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead our Facilities team.
In this full-time, year-round role, you will oversee the maintenance and overall condition of our oceanfront property, ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for both guests and team members. From managing daily operations and responding to unexpected repairs to leading, coaching, and developing your team, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. Working closely with the Facilities Director and other departments, you will help drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across the property.
The full-time and seasonal maintenance team at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel also provides support to the Bayview Hotel, an adjacent 26-room sister property, by assisting with maintenance requests and ensuring consistent upkeep across both locations. This shared responsibility helps maintain high standards of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction at both properties.

Position Details:
Schedule: Full-time, year-round
Hours: Varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Location: Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center
Pay: Competitive salary based on experience + benefits

Key Responsibilities:
Lead, schedule, and support the maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards
Oversee daily maintenance operations, including guest requests, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs
Diagnose and resolve issues across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems
Maintain property standards across guest rooms, public spaces, and grounds
Manage inventory, tools, and supplies to ensure readiness and efficiency
Partner with leadership on hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
Coordinate with outside vendors and support larger repair projects and property improvements
Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent maintenance needs as required
Requirements:
Previous maintenance leadership experience in hospitality or a similar environment
Strong knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with hands-on work and supporting the team as needed
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks in various environments
CPO certification or willingness to obtain
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-first mindset
